Choose Tally on mobile if
- Tally runs well on a PC in your office and your accountant works there.
- The owner, partners or salespeople need to see sales, outstanding and stock, and make the odd voucher, from a phone.
- You want E-Way Bills and E-Invoices from the phone, or to ask questions about your books.
- You would rather not move your books to a third-party server or change how the office works.
Choose Tally on Cloud if
- Several people in different cities need to work in full Tally at the same time, all day.
- You do not want to keep an office PC running.
- You need Tally features on the move that a phone app does not cover, and can live with a desktop screen on a phone.
How BizGrip does it
A small Windows app, the Bridge, runs next to TallyPrime on your office PC. It sends an encrypted copy of your books to the BizGrip cloud every couple of minutes, only over outgoing connections, so nothing on the internet can reach your PC. The BizGrip app on your phone reads that copy, and the vouchers you create travel back through the Bridge into Tally. More in Tally on mobile.
Questions
What is the difference between Tally on mobile and Tally on Cloud?
Tally on Cloud runs Tally itself on a rented server, and you open it through a remote-desktop app on your PC or phone. Tally on mobile, like BizGrip, keeps Tally on your own office PC and gives your phone an app built for phones, which reads a synced copy of your data and sends new entries back into Tally.
Is Tally on Cloud good on a phone?
It works, but you are looking at the full desktop screen of Tally through a remote-desktop window, made for a keyboard and a large monitor. A Tally on mobile app shows the same data in screens built for a phone.
Do I need Tally on Cloud to see Tally on my phone?
No. With BizGrip your data reaches your phone from the Tally you already run in the office, using your existing licence. Nothing about your Tally setup changes.
When is Tally on Cloud the better choice?
When several people in different places need to work in full Tally all day, or when you do not want to keep an office PC running. Then Tally itself has to live somewhere everyone can reach.
